MICHAEL G. CHAN, MD
Vascular and Interventional Radiology
“During medical school, I saw the great impact radiology has on the care of patients. I loved the process of diagnosis and directing treatment that is made possible by advanced radiologic techniques. I also enjoyed the dialogue between radiologists and other physicians, particularly when discussing the best plan of action for patients.
Interventional radiology is what I am most passionate about. I love being able to help treat patients and cure disease all through a tiny puncture in the skin. I try to explain what is happening in a patient’s body using my medical knowledge but in clear terms, answer any questions and collaborate with the patient to develop a plan of care. Besides providing excellent care, I hope that I can teach patients about their health and help cultivate a comfortable environment when planning and performing procedures.”
In his free time, Dr. Chan enjoys skiing and swimming, traveling and cooking. He also likes watching sports; his favorite teams are the Lakers, Angels and any of the Cal Berkeley teams.
